Redwood Fencing in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA
We were called to a residence that needed help with fencing. One section was damaged and an additional section was covered in Ivy and hardly visible with serious wood rot. Our first course of action was to remove the fencing in the front and on the side yard to begin new construction. The material selected was con heart rough redwood in various sizes. One section of fencing consisted of 1x12" vertical boards while the front yard fence was built with 1x4" that we had to rip in order to mimic the existing design of a very non private creative feel. The front yard section had an alternated pattern of spacing as well as height as the picture shows. It was also very short and exhibited a welcoming approach as you enter the property.
The opposing side was a more private feel with limited spacing in between each board and a height of nearly 6 feet versus the 4 foot section in the front yard. Fast setting concrete allowed us to complete the work in cool temperatures, while firmly setting the pressure treated 4x4" posts in place. The job was completed with 2x4" rough redwood frames and exterior grade deck screws which will prevent separation due to swelling which can occur with temperature changes. Our customer is happy and the appearance is greatly improved from various angles in the yard. They obtained privacy as well as an open inviting feel to the entrance.
